On Monday, May 7, Alexandre Mateu, CEO of SEG, supported Julien and Gauthier, two students in the 2nd year of a Bachelor of Architecture, for the presentation of their project to the “Le Grand Détournement” competition organized in partnership with “the Montpellier National School of Architecture "," Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole "and" La French Tech Montpellier ".
The theme of this architecture and design competition is UP CYCLING, or how to use our resources.are existing? How to see in the long term and plan projects with materials already above ground, already designed for a defined use, already obsolete by our society? How can we find uses that have been forgotten by standard creative, commercial, economic, normative, security mechanisms? In short, a concrete reflection from a Designer perspective through the creation of objects, materials, processes from a material in the making, from an object material '' abandoned '' by our way of life.
Once this resource was rediscovered, the participants had to give it a new use, function, process of use and propose a project as concrete as possible, until the realization of a real or digital prototype.
Julien and Gauthier looked at our industrial waste, and were able to give them a new future.

and on May 15, in the premises of FRENCH TECH in Montpellier, the prizes for the “Le Grand Détournement” competition were awarded.
Our students won the SPECIAL ENTREPRENARIAT PRIZE for their successful work, which impressed the Jury.
SEG is very proud of these 2 students, we will continue to help and support them in the realization of this wonderful concept of recycling industrial materials!
BRAVO!
